Take a break from studies: Winter Wonderland

Posted by Ben to चाडपर्व | 21 dec (12) 2011

Those of you who have enrolled into universities/colleges this year, I hope you all have finished your first semester and are overwhelmed by this holiday spirit all over the UK. Some of you may also be looking forward for exams in January and must be revising a lot. Those of you who have finally made through getting used to the system here; well done and hope you are all looking forward to celebrating Christmas. The lights, festive markets and surely the festive foods must have already given you that Christmas spirit and if in case you haven’t already then you can do so by visiting the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park corner.

It involves theme park based rides such as detonator, giant observation wheel and rides. It also has lots of shops for food and drinks and most of all the mulled wine to get into that festive spirit. Some of the other attractions include circus, Santa land and the main attraction includes the Samsung Galaxy Ice Rink. It is better to pre book tickets for ice rinks and giant observation wheel as the tickets could be sold out. For the other rides you can just buy the tokens by queuing up on the day.

Visiting Winter Wonderland with friends is a lot of fun. And if this is your first time then I am sure you’ll love it even more. The Christmas market there is also full of stalls selling handicrafts, candy and foods. I visited Winter Wonderland earlier this week and I must say it never disappoints you even if you go on yearly basis. For me the highlight was getting on the ride, Detonator, where you are lifted up in the air to a certain height and dropped down in a freefall. I could see the whole central London from the highest point we were lifted up. I definitely recommend you all to go visit Winter Wonderland and have an awesome evening. It opens from 10am to 10pm until 3rd of January except for Christmas day. For more information visit the official website.
