पाठ्यक्रमबारे सारश
This program comprises the jewellery stream for the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology. Concentrate predominantly on a hand-working skill base while learning technological aspects, and gaining industry knowledge and experience. Hand-skilling competencies include creation of jewellery items using historical techniques; development of a series of works for jewellery production; implementation of mechanisms in jewellery production; creation of work for a graduate jewellery project. Competencies within the theory, design and drawing component include professional jewellery design folio; managing a small jewellery business; planning and supervising a jewellery exhibition. Some jewellers extend their qualifications by undertaking further study in the areas of gemmology, diamond technology and jewellery valuation. Students may choose to articulate into further study at other tertiary institutions, including the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Gold and Silversmithing stream at RMIT or equivalent course at Monash University. Graduates of this course may gain employment in the design and development of jewellery and precious metals production.

Students should posses Australian year 12 (or recognised equivalent) or relevant work experience, IELTS score of 5.5 or higher (or recognised equivalents) and mature age. They are required to submit a resume of their interest and experience in the jewellery industry. (A prior knowledge of technical terminology or design would be an advantage).
