On successful completion of the Advanced Diploma of Translating and/or Advanced Diploma of Interpreting may result in recommendation to NAATI for accreditation without the need to undertake any other assessment (a NAATI accreditation test for example). The first year of the course focuses on Diploma of Interpreting (21624VIC), equivalent to Level 2 (paraprofessional). In the second year students study for Advanced Diploma which is equivalent to Level 3 (professional level).

The student accommodation arrangements commonly seen in Melbourne and Geelong are as follows: Homestay, Shared Accommodation, Independent Accommodation and Hostel. Homestay is a practical accommodation arrangement for those who have just arrived in Australia as overseas students or for those who wish to better understand Australian culture and society. Shared accommodation is another common form of arrangement. A student may rent a room in a flat or house and share such areas and facilities as the lounge, kitchen and bath room, and utility bills (including internet bills). Independent accommodation is another common form of arrangement. Students are strongly advised to lease through law-abiding agents and for students without suitable accommodation arrangements, hostel is also a good option. Hostels usually provide a small room furnished with basic furniture.
