The Associate Degree of Arts and Social Sciences is a focused but flexible course that enables students to study the humanities and social sciences alongside more applied and vocational areas. Students are able to construct a program of study that suits their individual goals and interests and will develop communication skills, skills of argument and analysis, and the potential for lifelong learning. Successful completion of the Associate Degree will automatically qualify students for entry into the Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences.

Students must have a bachelors degree or equivalent with a major in the honours specialisation, usually with excellent results. They must have achieved the following English language proficiency test results: IELTS (minimum test score of 6.5 overall; no individual band less than 6.0); Paper-based TOEFL (minimum test score of 580; a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5); Internet-based TOEFL (a score of at least 90 overall; a Writing score of at least 22; no score lower than 20 on the other sections of the test); Cambridge English CAE (A grade); Cambridge English CEP (C grade).
