This program is designed to provide an appreciation of food and fiber industries in combination with technology and management of animal science, food science and nutrition or plant studies, depending on the Applied science major selected. Agribusiness is concerned with delivering food and fiber products to global customers. It includes all operations involved in the manufacture and distribution of farm supplies, production processes on farms, and storage, processing and marketing of farm commodities, and products made from them. In terms of production value and employment opportunities, agribusiness is a major part of the Australian economy. This program combines core studies in business with an understanding of the agricultural business environment and an appreciation of the technologies of the food and fiber industries. It focuses on agronomy.

Students must have completed the following prerequisites: Queensland Year 12 or equivalent English; Food Science and Nutrition: Year 12 English, Chemistry and Mathematics B; Integrated Resource Management: Year 12 English and Mathematics A, B or C; Exercise and Nutrition Sciences: Year 12 English, plus one of either Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Physics. Other majors: Year 12 English. They should also satisfy the English language requirements: IELTS (overall score of 6.5; writing score of 6); TOEFL - (Computer based score of 237; Essay writing score of 4.5); TOEFL - (Paper based score of 570; TWE (Test of written English) score of 5); TOEFL - (Internet Based (IBT) overall score of 90; writing score of 21).
