This program involves the study of diagnostic radiography in which diagnostic radiographers work closely with radiologists to employ a range of technologies, according to the information on the doctor's request, to create images, that helps to provide an accurate diagnosis. They work closely with cardiologists in imaging heart disease, surgeons during a range of operations and emergency doctors in the emergency room. Diagnostic radiographers are relied upon to make decisions on the best imaging procedures for the patient’s condition. They may be called upon to help the medical practitioner interpret the image or discuss why an image appeared a certain way. Clinical education provides an opportunity for the student to integrate the knowledge acquired in the professional units of study with the practical skills attained in the workplace. Diagnostic radiographers work in the hospital system and private practice both in Australia and overseas. They will have the opportunity to work in a range of settings, such as small regional clinics, large metro imaging departments, and emergency wards. Students can take additional honours year.

Students must have an acceptable secondary qualification from their high school studies (or at least one year of tertiary studies). They must satisfy IELTS score of 6.5 (min 6.0 in each band) or TOEFL minimum result of 577 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in writing or IBT score of 90 overall including a minimum result of 22 in reading, listening and speaking and 23 in writing).
