This program will cover a wide range of topics including theories of what people do in daily life and why; knowledge of the development of human capabilities (eg cognitive, motor, psychosocial) and the ways in which injury and illness typically disrupt them; activity and environmental analysis; and theories and techniques for promoting participation in daily life. A number of clinical and professional fieldwork opportunities are scheduled as part of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) course. This gives hands-on experience with real clients in a supervised environment which allows combining the academic sections of the course with the practical abilities required of the occupational therapy profession. Occupational therapists work with individuals and groups of all ages and needs in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centres, private practice and community centres. They also work in non-traditional areas such as early intervention, health promotion, education, consultancy, industry and accessibility.

Students must have an acceptable secondary qualification from their high school studies (or at least one year of tertiary studies). They must satisfy IELTS score of 6.5 (min 6.0 in each band) or TOEFL minimum result of 577 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in writing or IBT score of 90 overall including a minimum result of 22 in reading, listening and speaking and 23 in writing).
