The BArchComp aims to create graduates who provide leadership in the thoughtful and creative application of computer technology in the design disciplines. Through a solid understanding of design computing theory, students address the diverse needs of current industry practice relevant to the built environment. Students are immersed in the current culture of architectural computing, encouraged to test out emerging ideas and developments and look for novel ways of applying new technologies to the design of the built environment. Students can find career as Architectural visualisation artist, Design technology manager (in architectural practices), Animation professional, Gaming environment developer, Building Information Modelling (BIM) customisation and implementation.

Applicants will be considered for admission to this program at UNSW on the basis of their performance in any of the following: Australian and New Zealand senior secondary studies; University or other post-secondary qualifications; equivalent overseas qualifications; an alternative entry qualification. They must also satisfy the following English language requirements: IELTS overall score of 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.0 in each of the sub-tests of speaking, listening, reading and writing; TOEFL - Internet-based Test (iBT) overall score of 90 with a minimum score of 24 in writing; TOEFL - Paper-based Test (PBT) overall score of 577 with a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE); successful completion of the UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course with a grade of C+ (grade point 7.0) and a minimum score of 20 in the writing component; overall score of 68 in Pearson Test of English academic version and successful completion of the ANU College Access Program with a minimum of 70 per cent overall.
