This double degree enables students to succeed in today's rapidly changing society. It will broaden their understanding of themselves, their community and the larger world as well as provide them with the theoretical and practical dimensions of communication. It is a challenging educational program leading to a degree which is internationally recognised in the global marketplace. The double degree provides students with lifelong transferable skills equipping them for employment in a wide range of professions, including Communications professions and for further study in a variety of disciplines. Students can major in the following Communications disciplines: Advertising, Broadcasting, Creative Services, Journalism, Media, Culture and Mass Communication, Public Relations. It focuses on visual arts.

Students will need to meet the admission requirements of the Western Australian Police Academy or the Corrective Services Training Academy. Students should have an Indicative ATAR (TER) score 55. They should satisfy IELTS overall band score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6), TOEFL minimum score of 550 including TWE score of 5 (or a Computer based TOEFL score of 213 with an essay rating of 5 or better), TOEFL iBT score of 80 with no score below 20, GCE O Levels grade C or better, WAUFP 50 percent plus pass in ELACS, TEE pass in English or English Literature, International Baccalaureate Diploma minimum Grade 3 at higher level for an English subject and other acceptable qualifications can be obtained from ECU International. There are different entry requirement for various countries.
