This course offers complementary studies from humanities, social sciences and economics, developing the knowledge and skills students need in order to analyse and solve business problems, and providing training in core areas of economics and their application to particular areas and policy issues. Students can design a course that suits their interests or enhances other studies. For example, they might combine business, economics or international trade and finance with an Asian language, politics or sociology. Economics specialisations include macroeconomics and microeconomics analysis and policy, business economics, international trade and finance, business models and forecasting, and resource and environmental economics. Major areas of study includes: Business economics, business models and forecasting, international trade and finance, macroeconomic analysis and policy, microeconomic analysis and policy, resource and environmental economics, anthropology, archaeology, art history, Asian studies, English, European studies, gender, sexuality and diversity studies, Greek studies, history, Indonesian/Malay, Italian studies, Japanese, Latin American studies, legal studies, linguistics, media studies, North American studies, peace studies, philosophy, politics, religion and spirituality studies, sociology, Spanish, theatre and drama, Western culture.

Students must have completed Mathematics determined to be equivalent to VCE Units 3 and 4 (any) with a minimum study score of 20. They must have completed Australian year 12 or equivalent to other countries. They must also satisfy one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0 or TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English or TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 213 with a score of 5 in essay writing or TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 80 with no individual score less than 20 or satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level which have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University or approved equivalent.
