This double degree program is for high-achieving students with an interest in both biomedical and basic sciences. It provides the opportunity to combine studies in the core units for the Bachelor of Biomedical Science component with up to two major sequences in related areas of science in the Bachelor of Science component. Fourteen biomedical core units provide students with the skills necessary to understand and investigate the functions of humans and other mammals. Graduates will have an advanced understanding of at least one basic area of science that underpins or compliments biomedical sciences and is relevant to medical research and healthcare. One science major sequence must be chosen from chemistry, biological sciences, genetics, physics, mathematics or statistics. A minor or second major sequence must be chosen from a different science area of study including any of the biomedical sciences such as anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, human pathology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, pharmacology and physiology. As both science and biomedical science graduates are highly employable the combination of the two degrees will increase the career prospects of graduates. Graduates will be well prepared for employment in the health care and medical related industries as well as areas requiring basic science knowledge and skills. Students can pursue the range of careers available to both biomedical science and science graduates.

Students must have academic Year 12 or equivalent academic qualification. They must have achieved the following English language proficiency test results: IELTS (minimum test score of 6.5 overall; no individual band less than 6.0); Paper-based TOEFL (minimum test score of 580; a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5); Internet-based TOEFL (a score of at least 90 overall; a Writing score of at least 22; no score lower than 20 on the other sections of the test); Cambridge English CAE (A grade); Cambridge English CEP (C grade).
