This course is designed to produce graduates with a sound knowledge of the fundamental principles and concepts of management, a familiarity with significant literature in the field and the ability to review, consolidate, extend and apply the knowledge and techniques to the hospitality management sector. It seeks to produce graduates with knowledge, skills and with an understanding of best practice in hospitality management,who recognise the value of research, critical thinking and effective communication. Graduates develop professional skills in such areas as interpersonal communication, services management, team work, report writing and problem-solving techniques. The course provides holders of a Tasmanian Polytechnic - Drysdale South Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification with the opportunity to gain a professional university degree in hospitality management.

Students should have a qualification of 12th year of schooling or equivalent. International students whose native is not English should have the following English qualifications: IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5); TOEFL (PBT) 550 TWE 4.5; TOEFL (IBT) 80 (no score below 20) and PTE Academic 50 with no score lower than 42.
