This course prepares students for entry-level employment and future managerial positions. It develops understanding of, and proficiency in, the principles of business required in a variety of commercial, industrial and service organisations including agencies across all levels of government, and a variety of non-profit bodies. Major areas of study include accounting, financial services, human resource management and marketing. The Bachelor of Commerce has a common first year undertaken by all students which introduces the various major fields of study. Students select their majors from second year. One compulsory unit of Professional Industry Experience is also incorporated in the degree. Graduate Career Opportunities arise in both the private and public sectors and cover a wide range of occupations: accounting firms, advertising, computer hardware and software, employment relations, financial management, human resource management, international trade and investment, marketing management, marketing research, personal investment, policy administration and retailing and wholesaling. This course focuses on tourism major. It is for articulating students only. Credit for a major is granted for the National Training Information Service (NTIS) Tourism Training Package THT60102 from an accredited RTO.
