This course is designed to meet an industry demand for a combination of technical skills in computer science and financial and business skills, which allows highly flexible career choices. It includes opportunities for industry-based project work, advanced studies in accounting, and a choice of streams in computer science, such as software engineering, data engineering, artificial intelligence or network engineering. Major areas of study includes: computer programming, computer networks, games technology, accounting, information management, commerce, computer information systems, computer science, computer technology, electronic commerce, information science/systems, information technology, mathematics, auditing, business law, taxation, financial management, management. On completion, graduates are usually employed in commercial systems development, information systems management, financial analysis, and general management in science and technology-related fields.

Students must have completed Mathematics determined to be equivalent to the Australian VCE Units 3 and 4 with a minimum score of 25 in Mathematical Methods (either) or 20 in Specialist Mathematics. They must have completed Australian year 12 or equivalent to other countries. They must also satisfy one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual band score less than 6.0 or TOEFL Paper-based Test: a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English or TOEFL Computer-based Test: a minimum score of 213 with a score of 5 in essay writing or TOEFL Internet-based Test: a minimum score of 80 with no individual score less than 20 or satisfactory completion of an English language subject at Year 12 or equivalent level which have been completed in the last two years and at an academic level acceptable to the University or approved equivalent.
