पाठ्यक्रमबारे सारश
This course prepares students to work as an editor, researcher, freelance writer, publisher or author in both new and traditional fields. Initially providing an introduction to literary studies, fiction and English in the workplace, the course allows students to practise a range of written genres including poetry, writing for children, creative non-fiction and scriptwriting, and to learn about designing work for particular audiences in appropriate formats. Options such as publishing and editing are offered and students also will have the opportunity to learn about the new media. Graduates are able to demonstrate a range of skills and have a portfolio of their creative achievements that makes them attractive to a wide range of employers in the arts and communication industries. The aim of the course is to prepare students for a professional life by: equipping students with practical skills in writing, research and editing, so that graduates will be experienced in a variety of forms that are required in both literary and professional contexts; producing students who are critical readers with competent editing skills; developing in students an understanding of literary genres, styles and forms, which includes an understanding of their historical, social and cultural contexts; developing in students an understanding of the culture of writing and publishing in Australia; and producing graduates who will be able to think flexibly, collaborate with others on group projects and solve problems creatively.

Students can qualify for undergraduate courses through: year 12 qualifications; adult entry (STAT); TAFE/VET qualifications; and higher education transfers. They will have to demonstrate their creative abilities through a portfolio. They should have IELTS (academic) score of 6.0 (6.0 in speaking and writing); TOEFL (paper) score of 550 (TWE 4.5); TOEFL (internet) score of 80 (20 in writing and speaking); Cambridge (CAE) Grade of B or higher; Cambridge (CPE) Grade of C or higher; Pearson English Test overall score of 59 with no communication score less than 53.
