This program prepares students to practise as a secondary teacher in Queensland. The education component develops professional knowledge and practice through courses on campus and at a variety of school or education sites. In the business component, they combine study in areas such as accounting education, business education, and information and communication technology education. Post-admission requirements include they must complete a minimum of 80 days supervised field experience, completed as full-time blocks. One major supervised field experience must be completed in a Queensland school. Students are required to complete 100 hours of wider field experience. A Suitability Card is required. Career opportunities include Teacher in secondary schools, training organisations, careers in related discipline areas. Graduates may register with the Queensland College of Teachers. Registration is a requirement to teach in Queensland schools. Obtain expertise in at least two teaching areas, to teach students in the middle (Years 8–9) and senior (Years 10 - 12) phases of learning.

Students must have completed Australian Year 12 with good grades and must have prior knowledge in English and Maths. Students must satisfy any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in all subtests; a TOEFL score (paper-based test) of at least 550, with essay score of 4; TOEFL score (internet-based test) of at least 76, with a minimum writing score 18 or successful completion of Direct Entry English Pathway, with a minimum grade of 65 percent.
