This program provides flexible, innovative and integrated studies into resource and environmental issues, both of a global nature and unique to Australia. This course prepares students for careers in research as well as in a variety of government, community and private organisations. Specific career paths include applied ecology; vegetation and wildlife management; reserve management; pest and weed control; biometry and data analysis; conservation biology and genetics; remote sensing and information systems; environmental assessment; catchment, lake and estuary management; salinity management, land care and land management. Graduates from this course can expect to gain employment as a project officer, environmental monitoring officer, resource assessment officer, ecotourism officer, land care or river care coordinator, scientist, manager, policy maker or planner in a government or non-government agency, or in a wide range of similar roles in industry, with resource users, or in the community sector.

Students should have obtained Higher Secondary Certificate with a grade average of 76 in academic subjects; all India Senior School Certificate with an overall grade of seven for best four externally examined subjects equivalent to other countries. In addition they should have fulfilled English language requirements with minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (academic) or equivalent.
