This course is a contemporary interdisciplinary degree which prepares students to tackle this complexity, and address the challenges of sustainability. The degree draws from the complementary strengths of ANU Colleges in education and research for sustainability, and offers opportunities to study widely across the Colleges. The degree is structured around the Sustainability Science major, which includes a core of compulsory courses focused on developing an interdisciplinary perspective, research skills relevant to sustainability, and their application to practice; and a limited suite of courses which provide the foundation for knowledge and skills relevant to the breadth of sustainability challenges. The following are the majors: anthropology major; Asian history major; Asia-pacific politics major; Asia-pacific security studies major; biological anthropology major; biology major; corporate sustainability major; development studies major; environmental and landscape sciences major; environmental studies major; geography major; international communication major; international relations major; marine science major; materials and mechanical systems major; natural resource management major; pacific studies major; philosophy major; political science major; science communication major; sociology major ;sustainability science major and sustainable energy systems major. Career opportunities are enormously diverse in the community, public and private sector; organizations seek graduates with superior skills in addressing complex, real-world sustainability challenges. These are ubiquitous in business and government, in large- and small-scale organizations, and in natural, rural and urban environments.

International students whose native is not English should have the following English qualifications: Academic IELTS - an overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test; TOEFL (paper based test) - a score of 570 with TWE score of 4.5; TOEFL (computer based test) - a score of 230 with Essay score of 4.5 or TOEFL (internet based test) - a score of 90, with a minimum of 20 in all four sections.
