This course in Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts allows students to focus on a law degree while simultaneously gaining insight into an area of interest within the arts. The completion of a double degree enhances employment prospects and allows graduates to choose a career from a wider field of opportunities. The Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts has been structured in a manner that allows it to be completed over five years with a strong emphasis on ethics, practical legal learning and the concepts of duty, social function and service to others as dictated by the objects of the university. Depending on the Arts major, employment opportunities are plentiful in both private and government level. Graduates may apply for government positions at both State and Federal level, such as, parliamentary advisors/legislators or positions in foreign affairs and the diplomatic service. Completing a law degree does not limit a graduate to working in a legal firm. Past Notre Dame Graduates have been employed as journalist, high court of Australia research assistant, district, supreme and family court judges’ associates in WA, NSW, Vic and NT, stockbroker, graduate assistant in state and federal government departments, positions with foreign affairs and the diplomatic service, and positions in private enterprise including ecotourism, entertainment and counselling.

Students must demonstrate their proficiency in English with IELTS score of 8.0 or TOEFL score of 250 (computer based) or 600 (paper based) or 100 (internet based). They must have achieved IB diploma score of 31 and GCEA score of 10. Students with a solid grounding in any of literature, history, politics and law, LOTE courses have an added advantage.
