This program provides students with an opportunity to undertake concurrent study in Mathematics and Science and complete two awards over a period of four years. In general, a combined degree program offers greater breadth of learning, enhancing the academic and professional qualities gained in each separate degree. At the same time, it recognises the increasing need for students to graduate with multidisciplinary skills. The units of study include GEOG1030 Global poverty and development, INFO1010 Introduction to Information Systems and Technology, MATH1510 Discrete Mathematics, PHYS1150 Physics for Biotechnologists I, PHYS1205 Integrated Physics, PHYS1250 MRS Physics and Radiation Protection, PSYC1030 General Psychology, CHEM2510 Applied Chemistry, CHEM2610 Environmental Chemistry I, PHYS2100 Introduction to Astronomy, SCIT2100 Contemporary Science and Professional Communication, MARI3410 Coral Reef Biology and Ecology and PHIL3070Scientific Knowledge and Scientific Method, BIOL1040 Introduction to Biology I, BIOL1050 Introduction to Biology II, MARI2300 Marine Biology, MARI2320 Marine Ecology, SRMT2030 Sustainable Resource Management: Water, MARI3300 Estuarine Ecology, MARI3320 Ecological Methodology, MARI3330 Marine Fish and Fisheries and MARI3400 Marine Science Project.

Applicants must have previous Year 12 studies and/or Higher education, tertiary, post-secondary qualifications and/or overseas qualifications considered equivalent to Australian qualifications. Entry is based on UAI or equivalent. Students of China must have Senior Middle School 3 or 2 60% (SMS 3) or 75% (SMS 2), Malaysia students with SPM 30 points over five subjects and UEC 30 points over five subjects, Singapore students must have GCE ‘O’ Level (or forecast results) 30 points over five subjects and Vietnam students must possess Diploma of General Education Average grade 7.0. English language requirements include IELTS Overall Score of 5.5 (with no individual band less than 5.0), TOEFL – Computer-based Test score of 173 with a TWE minimum score of 4.0, TOEFL – Internet-based Test 71 with a minimum score of 16 in Writing, TOEFL – Paper-based Test 500 with a TWE minimum score of 4.0, GCE ‘O’ Levels C6, SPM English of grade B4, UEC Senior 2 English of grade B3, HKCEE English with grade C (Minimum D in Writing) and HKALE Use of English with grade E.
