पाठ्यक्रमबारे सारश
This course aims to develop graduates who are able to apply knowledge of biotechnology in support industries. To enable this ability in graduates, the program is designed to build a high level of technical and evaluative skill so graduates can assess and implement recommendations for best practice in patient testing, monitoring and education. The program also aims to develop high level communication skills so that graduates can interact positively with patients and other health professionals and are ready for the clinical or scientific work environment. Clinical decision making and problem solving ability will be promoted in graduates through opportunities to build skills in designing, conducting and interpreting medical research. Graduates have developed the expertise and skills to work as health professionals in pathology, clinical investigation, biotechnology or nutritional areas. The biotechnology specialisation will explore the ways in which living things and their molecular constituents are used as tools. With an emphasis on medical applications the student is ideally placed to pursue a career in the BioPharma industry and medical diagnostics. Students may exit with an interim award of Associate Degree in their area of specialisation on successful completion of the second year of the program. Work integrated learning courses are included in each specialisation to facilitate work readiness of graduates.

Students should have sound or satisfactory achievement in three academic subjects in Year 12 or equivalent. They should also have an overall IELTS band score of 6.0 (with no individual band score of less than 5.0), or a TOEFL score of 550 (Internet-based score of 79 or computer-based score of 213), including a TWE of 4.
