This course enables students to gain the many skills necessary for success in the music profession. The course is based at the Conservation of Music in Hobart, a dynamic and progressive music-making environment which values and provides intensive one-to-one tuition, small class sizes and personalized attention. Major study areas in either classical or contemporary mode include composition; instrumental (orchestral instruments, keyboard and guitar); music technology; musicology and voice. Graduates of the Bachelor of Music are engaged at all levels of the music profession both in Australia and overseas. They enjoy successful careers as performers, teachers and administrators, or may be involved in broadcasting, journalism or as music critics.

Students should have a qualifications equivalent to the 12th year of schooling in Australia. International students whose native is not English should have the following English qualifications: IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5); TOEFL (PBT) 550 TWE 4.5; TOEFL (IBT) 80 (no score below 20) and PTE Academic 50 with no score lower than 42.
