In this course students study about the medical physics, patient health-care needs, and professional communication techniques, before specializing in photon therapy, electron therapy and megavoltage therapy. They experience practical work and clinical placements in local oncology departments. It prepares them for a career as a radiation therapist in a hospital or private institution, treating cancer patients and planning and delivering prescribed radiation doses. As a radiation therapist in a radiotherapy department of a major hospital or private institution, they may become a member of a team treating cancer patients and be responsible for planning and delivering prescribed radiation doses. Graduate are eligible for provisional accreditation by the Australian Institute of Radiography.

Students must have sound knowledge in the area of Maths Physics. They must also meet English proficiency requirements with IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 7.0 and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language overall score of 100.0.
