This course provides a broad, practically-based training, focused on ecology and the management of ecosystems. It caters for students with a general interest in the environment, and the inter-related biology and ecology of plants and animals. Biologists are needed to solve issues such as environmental degradation, environmental impact of urban development, management of land and marine parks, pollution, and conservation of biodiversity. Students can study this as part of a double major with Agriculture, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry, Coastal Zone Management and Physics. The various career opportunities are Urban and Regional Planner, Life Scientist, Botanist, Zoologist, Teacher - Secondary, Air Pollution Analyst, Air/Water Quality Manager, Animal/Plant Breeder, Biologist, City Planning Environmental Consultant, Conservation Agent, Conservation Analyst, Ecologist, Environmental Advisor, Manager or Scientist, Environmental Lobbyist, Environmental Officer, Environmental Planner, Environmental Rehabilitation Expert and EPA Inspector.

Students must have knowledge in applicable Mathematics. They must also satisfy the English language requirements such as IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Writing score of 6.0, Speaking score of 6.0, Reading score of 6.0, Listening score of 6.0, Overall band score of 6.0 and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) paper based score of 550, Internet based (20 in each section) score of 80 and CUTE (Curtin Uni Test of English) - C.
