This program in agricultural chemistry is the study of both chemistry and biochemistry which are important in agricultural production, the processing of raw products into foods and beverages, and in environmental monitoring and remediation. These studies emphasise the relationships between plants, animals and bacteria and their environment. Agricultural chemists are often employed to analyse agricultural and food products to ensure product quality and safety. They may also work in environmental monitoring and remediation. Developing new technologies for the specification and processing of raw products and the protection of environment is often part of the job. A background in agricultural and environmental chemistry will allow students to pursue a career in environmental remediation, protection, environmental consultancy, pollution control and bioremediation in both rural and urban environments.

Students must have an acceptable secondary qualification from their high school studies (or at least one year of tertiary studies). They must satisfy IELTS score of 6.5 (min 6.0 in each band) or IBT score of 90 (min 23 in writing and 22 in reading, listening and speaking).

The Camperdown campus is the home to the faculties of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, Architecture, Arts, Economics and Business, Education and Social Work, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Veterinary Science. Also located on this campus is the University's Centre for English Teaching. This campus has sports ovals and centres, museums, galleries, two major complexes devoted to student recreation and services.

Accomodation options that are available in this campus are University owned accommodation, Residential colleges, Sydney University Village, STUCCO student cooperative living. International House is the only University owned residential college. It offers both catered and self-catered options. The Student Housing Unit manages Darlington House, the Terraced Housing and Selle House. Darlington House accommodates 54 students in 12 male-only or female-only self-contained apartments in a modern apartment building. The Terraced Housing consists of single and twin-shared bedrooms in 43 terraced houses located near the University. Low cost accommodation, subsidised by the University, is offered in Selle House and several terraced houses. This accommodation caters to students on a very low budget. Students will only be eligible if they are an Australian Citizen or a Resident and receive a Centrelink benefit. Sydney University Village offers self-catering apartments to enrolled students. Located in Newtown, about ten minutes walk from the university, STUCCO is a housing co-operative for full-time, low income students who are Australian residents. Affiliated with, but not owned by the University, it accommodates 38 students in eight apartments. Off campus accommodation is available in student residence or hostel.
