This course is for individuals who work, or wish to work, at skilled operator level in natural resource management, especially in an outdoors environment. This course includes competencies required by a wide range of sectors within the conservation and land management industry, including the natural area restoration, weed management, vertebrate pest management, conservation earthworks, lands, parks and wildlife, community coordination and facilitation, and Indigenous land management sectors. This course includes the units from Certificate II in conservation and land management. If students have already completed Certificate II in conservation and land management they will get advanced standing in this course. Employment possibilities include work as a skilled operator in land management for local government, national parks and wildlife, other state government agencies, bush regeneration organisations, landcare and other environmental organisations.

Students must have completed Year 10 or equivalent, or completion of Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management. They must also demonstrate English language ability such as, suitable results of a recent academic IELTS - score 5.5 overall with no individual band lower than 5.0, or TOEFL (iBT) 51, or successful completion of TAFE NSW Certificate III in English for Further Study, or proof that the medium of instruction at school has been in English with satisfactory grades in English in final examinations.
