This course reflects accounting job roles in financial services and other industries requiring accounting support functions. It covers the following core units: prepare financial reports; design and produce business documents; contribute to ohs hazard identification and risk assessment; process financial transactions and extract interim reports; make decisions in a legal context; prepare financial statements for non-reporting entities; set up and operate a computerised accounting system; carry out business activity and instalment activity statement tasks and apply principles of professional practice to work in the financial services industry. On completion, students can apply to enrol into the diploma of accounting and gain credits for units completed in this course.

Students must have completed Year 10 or equivalent. They must also demonstrate English language ability such as, suitable results of a recent academic IELTS - score 5.5 overall with no individual band lower than 5.0, or TOEFL (iBT) 51, or successful completion of TAFE NSW Certificate III in English for Further Study, or proof that the medium of instruction at school has been in English with satisfactory grades in English in final examinations.
