This Certificate IV in Music forms the first year of the Advanced Diploma of Music. The Certificate IV in Music has four main areas of study: musicianship; performance skills; music business; music technology. Throughout the program, students are provided with intense individual tuition on their principal instrument as well as a regular forum for performance both on and off campus. Graduates of these courses may gain employment as musicians; music teachers; arrangers; performers; producers; agents. Students can continue their studies and do the Advanced Diploma of Music or the Bachelor of Australian Popular Music. Graduates may seek employment in the music industry as music teachers, arrangers, performers, producers or agents.

Students must have completed an Australian Year 12 (or recognized equivalent) or relevant work experience. IELTS 5.5 or higher (or recognized equivalents) is required. Mature Age students are encouraged to apply. A recorded audition must also be supplied with the application, this may be uploaded to a website, or provided on CD.
