This course is for people who want to become civil design para-professionals. The course will provide them with a range of skills that will increase their opportunity to pursue a career in civil design offices. They will acquire skills in civil detail drafting and the underpinning skills associated with civil design, such as engineering mathematics, statics and strength of materials. In addition they will also acquire general workplace skills to enhance their ability to perform in civil design offices. Career opportunities include civil design para-professional.

Students must have completed year 12 or equivalent. They must also have completed WorkCover approved OHS General Induction Training (available from TAFE or other RTOs). They must also demonstrate English language ability such as, suitable results of a recent academic IELTS - score 5.5 overall with no individual band lower than 5.0, or TOEFL (iBT) 51, or successful completion of TAFE NSW Certificate III in English for Further Study, or proof that the medium of instruction at school has been in English with satisfactory grades in English in final examinations.
