The Diploma of Computing and IT introduces students to the discipline areas of Computer Science, Games Programming, Software Engineering, Internet Technology, Computer Security, Information Technology and other emerging areas. It allows the flexibility to choose between three Degree courses at the completion of the Diploma program. The Diploma consists of the same units and structure that make up the first year of the degree course offered by ECU. PIBT takes the responsibility for teaching the units and ECU sets and moderates the examinations. On completion of this Diploma, students can articulate into ECU's Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Information Technology or Bachelor of Computer and Network Security.

Students must have completion of high School Graduation with acceptable grades for the countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Brunei, Mauritius, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, International Baccalaureate, Japan, Kenya, Ghana; Malawi; Tanzania; Uganda; Zambia; Zimbabwe, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Taiwan, Macau, Korea, Thailand, Turkey, UAE and Vietnam. Mature age students (20 years of age and over) may be admitted to the Certificate IV without meeting the formal academic qualifications if they have relevant work experience and other acceptable qualifications. Students should have an IELTS score of 6.0, TOEFL 550 (new grading system 213 and internet 80), GCE 'O' Level C, English 1119 C, SPM English C, HKCEE English Syllabus (Post 2007) HKALUE Use of English 4C and KCSE C.
