This course is for those working in the field of electronics - communications engineering. It provides competencies to enable students to select, commission, maintain and diagnose faults/malfunctions in electronic communications systems. On completion students can gain employment as Electronics Engineering Tradesperson. They can work as an electronic equipment tradesperson/technician involved in the installation, setup, maintenance, and repair of a broad range of electronic equipment. Specific areas include but are not limited to: consumer and professional audio and video equipment, communications equipment, electronic security, computer hardware, entertainment/amusement machines and office/business machines.

Students must have completed Year 12 or equivalent. They must also demonstrate English language ability such as, suitable results of a recent academic IELTS - score 5.5 overall with no individual band lower than 5.0, or TOEFL (iBT) 51, or successful completion of TAFE NSW Certificate III in English for Further Study, or proof that the medium of instruction at school has been in English with satisfactory grades in English in final examinations.
