This program is designed for students who are interested in studying science but are not sure about committing to a three year degree. This single-year degree provides a taste of university, and is ideal for anyone unsure about whether further education is the right pathway for them. The Diploma of Science provides specialisation streams that are direct pathways into the second year of one of the many bachelor degrees offered by CDU, for students who wish to continue their studies at the completion of the diploma. These pathways feed directly into the CDU Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Environmental Science.

Applicants must have completed recognised upper secondary or equivalent Year 12 studies to the required standard. They should also demonstrate their English language proficiency with an overall minimum TOEFL score of 550 and score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English (TWE), valid for two years, from the date of the test to the date of commencement at CDU; or with a minimum CBT score of 213 and a minimum score of 4.5 in the Essay Rating; or with a minimum IBT score of 79 and a minimum score of 20 in writing; or an overall IELTS of 6.0, writing band 6.0, no band less than 5.5.
