This articulated program is aimed at students with an interest in cultural heritage management, especially in the specialist areas of archaeology, cultural heritage consultancy, heritage tourism, interpretation and visitor management. It aims to provide students with an increased level of theoretical knowledge, research skills and practical skills necessary for understanding complex issues in cultural heritage management. The Graduate Diploma and Masters programs include the opportunity to acquire extensive practical skills in archaeological field practice, a detailed understanding of heritage related legislation in Australia, and experience with project management. The course aims to meet the research needs of graduates with an interest in cultural heritage management. It aims to increase the theoretical knowledge, research and practical skills required to develop appropriate depth of understanding of issues in cultural heritage management in a number of specialisations. Students will undertake core topics in management, project management, and issues relevant to archaeological or tourism cultural heritage management. The course draws on both theoretical and practical material and provides the opportunity for students to apply both the principles and the practical skills developed during the course.

Students must normally hold an approved undergraduate degree or equivalent, majoring in archaeology, tourism or a closely related discipline from an approved tertiary institution. Under exceptional circumstances and subject to specific conditions, the Faculty Board may admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature. They should have IELTS (academic) score of 6.0 (6.0 in speaking and writing); TOEFL (paper) score of 550 (TWE 4.5); TOEFL (internet) score of 80 (20 in writing and speaking); Cambridge (CAE) Grade of B or higher; Cambridge (CPE) Grade of C or higher; Pearson English Test overall score of 59 with no communication score less than 53.
