This course offers a program of education in the discipline and practice of multimedia design or multimedia design research and provides students with the opportunity to intensively study an area of specialisation of their own choice. Students will have an understanding of research concepts, strategies and methods and the skills to apply them in the field of multidisciplinary design. Graduates can anticipate that the expertise gained through this course is capable of enhancing their professional opportunities. Career opportunities include work in the multimedia, advertising and graphic design industries, web design, computer animation, game and virtual reality design, digital imaging, illustration, motion graphics or digital video production.

Applicants must have successful completion of an Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in an art and design field. International applicants must submit 10-15 images of their work for assessment and a detailed proposal outlining the aims, objectives and method of final presentation. Also applicants must demonstrate their English language proficiency with an IELTS minimum overall test score of 6.5. The individual band scores required is 6.0 in reading, listening, writing, and speaking; or with a TOEFL score of 580 in paper-based test with a TWE score of at least 4.5, overall score of 90 in internet-based, at least 22 in writing and no section lower than 20.
