This is an advanced, specialised accounting degree for accountants. The course builds competencies in leading edge accounting and business systems thinking and developments. The program develops students' skills in business analysis, critical and strategic thinking, problem-solving and oral and written communication. Upon completion of the Master of Accounting, students should have a broad understanding of the key contemporary issues in accounting and specific competencies in the areas of external financial reporting, cost management, performance management, auditing and business systems. In their choice of electives, students may emphasise any one of these areas or broaden their understanding of financial management and business management.

Students should have an undergraduate degree in accounting, or equivalent. They must have at least one year of documented, relevant (full-time) work experience and results of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), unless the applicant has met one of the approved conditions for a GMAT exemption. International applicants must fulfill any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (academic English only) score of 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0); or TOEFL (paper-based test) score of 577 plus TWE 5.0, TOEFL (computer-based test) score of 233 plus 5.0 essay rating and TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 79 (writing 21, speaking 18, reading and listening 13 each); or Pearson Test of English (academic) score of 58-64 inclusive and no communicative skill below 50.
