This course is an interdisciplinary coursework or coursework and research degree that allows students to develop a program of advanced learning suited to their individual interests and skills in the area of climate change. The degree is jointly offered by the Crawford School of Economics and Government and the Fenner School of Environment and Society. It comprises a minimum of three compulsory courses in core topic areas covering climate impacts, vulnerability and adaptation, climate change economics and policy, and methodological approaches; elective courses can be selected from a wide range of topics to meet individual student needs and interests. Graduates can expect to gain both a high level of knowledge in particular aspects of climate change, and a broad knowledge of the current issues in and approaches to climate change vulnerability, adaptation and mitigation; develop their independent learning, analytical and research, teamwork, and oral and written communication skills; develop networks relevant to their academic and professional interests; and be better placed to respond to the challenges of climate change through their chosen careers.

Students must have the following requirements: qualifications equivalent to a degree of bachelor with first or upper second class honors from an Australian University or a Graduate Diploma in a relevant topic area, awarded with an average of at least 70 per cent; qualifications equivalent to a degree of bachelor from an Australian University and substantial relevant work experience, as determined by the delegated authority; or an equivalent combination of postgraduate study in a relevant topic area and relevant work experience, as determined by the delegated authority. International students whose native is not English should have the following English qualifications: Academic IELTS - an overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test; TOEFL (paper based test) - a score of 570 with TWE score of 4.5; TOEFL (computer based test) - a score of 230 with Essay score of 4.5 or TOEFL (internet based test) - a score of 90, with a minimum of 20 in all four sections.
