This course is designed for those with demonstrated finance skills who wish to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the many advanced aspects of finance. This course also provides an appropriate foundation program for students intending to proceed to the PhD program in finance. The course has also attracted a significant number of enrolments from finance academics at other Victorian tertiary institutions.

Applicants must have a four-year undergraduate degree with a specialisation in finance, or the equivalent, with at least an H2A (75 per cent) average in the specialisation, or completion of an equivalent preliminary course, normally the Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, at an overall standard of at least second class honours (H2A: 75 per cent). They need to have Performance on the GMAT, unless the applicant has met one of the approved conditions for GMAT exemption. International applicants must fulfill any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS (academic English only) score of 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0); or TOEFL (paper-based test) score of 577 plus TWE 5.0, TOEFL (computer-based test) score of 233 plus 5.0 essay rating and TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 79 (writing 21, speaking 18, reading and listening 13 each); or Pearson Test of English (academic) score of 58-64 inclusive and no communicative skill below 50.
