This program will help students rise to the challenges of this cutting edge field where education meets technology. The course has two pathways, professional and research. The professional pathway will appeal to them if they're looking to work as learning and development manager, an instructional designer, a multimedia learning designer or a learning strategist. The research pathway will suit them if they want to conduct research in ICT-supported learning or if they are planning to progress to a higher degree by research. If they pursue the research pathway they will complete a dissertation (12 credit points) on a topic chosen in consultation with their supervisor along with core units of study in psychology and the design of technology-supported learning, emerging educational technologies and research frontiers. Upon completion of the Master of Learning Science and Technology, graduates can work in industry, government and education who are seeking to advance their careers. Graduates will also be equipped to pursue a research career in ICT supported learning.

Students must have a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, in education, computer science and technology, information technology, arts (informatics) or psychology, or equivalent qualification; or a bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either relevant postgraduate studies or one year's full-time professional experience in a field relevant to the course content; or in the case of the Graduate Diploma, completion of the embedded Graduate Certificate in Learning Science and Technology of the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification; or in the case of the Master of Learning Science and Technology, completion of the embedded Graduate Diploma in Learning Science and Technology of the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification. They must satisfy IELTS minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band or TOEFL minimum result of 577 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in writing or IBT minimum result of 90 overall including a minimum result of 22 in reading, listening and speaking and 23 in writing. (c) in the case of the Graduate Diploma, completion of the embedded Graduate Certificate in Learning Science and Technology of the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification; or in the case of the Master of Learning Science and Technology, completion of the embedded Graduate Diploma in Learning Science and Technology of the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification.
