This program gives students a solid education in the core disciplines in tourism and hospitality management and prepares students either to begin work in a tourism or hospitality business environment immediately upon completing the program; or to continue in a degree program in tourism and hospitality at a university. Students who have done the Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management program will notice that there is a greater emphasis on the application of knowledge in this program rather than on just acquiring knowledge of the terminology, concepts and theories. Upon successful completion of all 15 modules, student will be awarded 'Advanced Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management'. Students must score at least a grade 'D' or above for all 15 modules in order to graduate from the Advanced Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management programme. On successful completion of each module, they can request for the award of 'Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management (Module Name)'. Upon successful completion of any nine modules (excluding major project), they can request for the award of 'Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management'. They can find careers in a wide range of sectors such as the hotel industry, events management, tourist attractions, restaurants and integrated resorts.

Applicants must have completed 4 GCE 'O' level passes; or equivalent. For example they must have completed 12 years of basic education in home country; or higher NITEC in relevant field of study. For Advanced Standing applicants must have completed Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management from MIC; relevant Diploma or higher Diploma from other recognized institutions will gain exemptions of up to 9 modules. Also applicants first language should be English, or their permanent residence must be in a country where English is the official language, and should have completed secondary education/undergraduate degree via the medium of English; or have completed: GCE 'O' level pass in English at the standard of 'C6' or better; or GCE 'A' level pass in English at the standard of 'D' or better; or SPM pass in English at a standard of '6' or higher (Malaysia); or STPM pass in English at a standard of '8' or higher (Malaysia); or successful completion (within the last 10 years) of a tertiary qualification where English was the language of instruction; or TOEFL: an overall paper based score of 500; an overall computer-based score of 173; an overall internet-based score of 61; IELTS an overall academic band score of 5.0; have successful completion of Melior International College WILL English Program - Level 5; or any other proof of English proficiency which are equivalent to the above.
