The Actuarial Science specialisation provides solid and in-depth training for those who wish to pursue a career in this small and well respected profession. It is popular among students who have strong interest in insurance, financial, and risk management areas, and possess high analytical and numerical ability. On successfully completing the requirements of this specialisation, students can qualify for up to eight exemptions from the Core Technical Subjects (CT1 to CT8 series of examinations) of the Institute of Actuaries, UK, and the professional body that develops and advances the actuarial profession.

Students will be taking Year 12 national examinations in the year of application in order to be considered for admission and must have completed at least 12 years of general education or equivalent. Submission of IELTS, TOEFL and SAT1 scores are optional except for students with PRC Gao Kao qualification (i.e. students who will be taking Gao Kao in June 2012 and those who have already taken Gao Kao). Scores should be obtained three years prior to the application deadline. Students from India should have obtained Standard XII Qualification and from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore.
