This programme aims at developing well-rounded individuals who are schooled in a range of diverse subject areas. This track was launched in 2009 under the Bachelor of Business Management programme. The creation of the FRA track is in line with the industry-wide recognition of the prominence of the role of risk management professionals in the finance industry and beyond. The recent global financial crisis has highlighted the importance to understand, monitor and manage risks that are pertinent in transactions of financial nature and, by extension, in activities that can ultimately affect the smooth functioning of enterprises. Increasingly, professionals who are familiar with the business environment and who are well-grounded in quantitative and statistical skills are sought for to analyze numerical data for hints of risks and to quantify risk for proper monitoring.

The foundation courses are calculus, introductory economics and academic writing. The University core courses are analytical skills and creative thinking, business, government and society, management communication, ethics and social responsibility, leadership and team building, and technology and world change. The business core courses are business law, business processes, finance, financial accounting, management accounting, management of people at work, marketing, management science, introductory statistics or introduction to statistical theory, and strategy. The finance courses are corporate reporting and analysis of financial statements; financial instruments, institutions and markets; and any three electives from: analysis of derivative securities, analysis of equity investments, analysis of fixed-income investments, corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, international finance, investment banking, and wealth management. Students will need to declare FNCE with track in FRA as their major and take the following courses: Corporate Reporting and Analysis of Financial Statements; Financial Instruments, Institutions and Markets; Linear Algebra; Complete one of the following courses: Quantitative Risk Analysis and Enterprise Risk Management; any four Financial Risk Analysis Track electives.
अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता
Students must have attained 18 years of age. They should have least 12 years of education and have obtained good passes in a national or international examination that is recognised for the purpose of admission. SAT or ACT (including the writing test) or GMAT (if SAT is not available) scores are required. ACT or GMAT scores must reach SMU by 31 May to be considered. Interview or essay writing for all short-listed students who are not residing in Singapore will be interviewed by telephone. Students from India should have obtained Standard 12 education. Chinese students need to have completed their National College Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) qualification. American students must have earned High School Diploma. Malaysian students must have STPM/UEC qualification. Students from Germany are required to have German Arbitur qualification. Students from United Kingdom must have earned A Levels - Cambridge, Edexel, AQA (good passes in at least three advanced - Level subjects). Students should also have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), 79 - 80 (internet-based) or an IELTS overall band score of and with Malaysian University English Test (MUET): overall band of at least 5.
