This programme has been designed to provide students a more complete learning experience by incorporating the three essential ingredients of the University curriculum structure, namely, the University level requirements, programme requirements and unrestricted elective modules. The programme requirements are made up of general faculty requirements and major requirements of the department that is granting the degree. This programme curriculum is designed to meet student needs in the context of the mission of the Division and the Faculty of Engineering. The programme educational objectives established in 2007 by ESE faculty are focused on the capabilities of its B.Eng. graduates in the three to five years and beyond timeframe of employment. They are: this is to include having the ability to analyze and solve environmental engineering problems by applying mathematics, engineering principles, computer skills, and natural sciences to environmental engineering practice and using modern engineering techniques, skills, and tools to identify, formulate and solve environmental engineering problems; graduates will be able to apply knowledge and skills from a broad education in order to understand impacts of environmental engineering solutions in a global, societal, and environmental context consistent with principles of sustainable development; they will be prepared for professional practice in environmental engineering and will demonstrate abilities to communicate and work effectively in an ethical manner on professional teams, exhibiting a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in industry, government, and /or academia. The programme aims to achieve the following learning outcomes. These outcomes were established in 2007 and are focused on assessments needed as students progress through the B.Eng. curriculum in years 1 through 4: an ability to apply scientific and engineering principles as well as contemporary technology to the discipline; an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data, in several areas which can include air quality and resources, water and land quality and resources, energy systems and environmental and human health impacts; an ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems and to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs; an ability to convey technical material through oral presentations and written communications; a knowledge of contemporary and emerging environmental issues and a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in, life-long learning; an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice with an integrated understanding of professional, societal, and ethical responsibilities and the importance of, and role for, multidisciplinary teams in professional practice.
अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता
Applicants from India must have completed a good pass in five subjects including English is necessary for candidates to make a competitive application. Applicants from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also applicants must demonstrate their English language proficiency with a minimum acceptable score in any of the following: EL1119 - C6, IELTS - 6.5, MUET - 200; 'O' Level English - C6; TOEFL - 580 for paper-based / 237 for computer-based / 92-93 for internet-based.
