This programme provides students with flexibility in their career options. Under the double degree programme, a student can graduate with two degrees in Social Sciences and Accountancy.

The Foundation courses are Calculus, Introductory Economics; University core: Analytical Skills and Creative Thinking, Business, Government and Society, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Leadership and Team Building, Management Communication, Technology and World Change; Social Science core: Introduction to Political and Policy Studies, Introduction to Psychology, Understanding Societies, Research Methods in the Social Sciences and Introductory Statistics; General Education courses for Arts: Art, Dance, English Literature, Foreign Language, Geography, History, Linguistics, Music, Philosophy and Theatre Studies and Drama; General Education courses for Science: Applied Biology, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computing, General Sciences, General Mathematics and Physics; Global and Regional Studies: Business Study Mission / Country Studies, Doing Business in China: Communication and Business Approaches, Economic Development in Asia, Global Financial Risk Management, Intellectual Property Rights, International Business, International Finance, International Taxation, Law and International Business, Management in Asia and Tax Planning; Technology and Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurial Finance, Entrepreneurship and Business Creation, Experiences in Small Business Consulting, Intelligent Organisations, IT and the Law and Software Engineering. Complete the eight Economics major courses, 10 Major-related courses in Economics and complete two courses from any areas in the BSc (Econ) curriculum.
अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता
Freshmen who are offered direct entry into the double degree programme are deemed to be provisionally enrolled. Provisionally enrolled students will be required to fulfill the stipulated double degree requirements by the end of their year 2, failing which they will be taken off the double degree programme. Therefore, direct entry into the double degree programme does not guarantee that enrolment as a double degree student for the duration of the studies at SMU. Freshmen who are not offered direct entry into the double degree programme may still enroll as single degree students and will be eligible to apply for the double degree programme in their second year if they have done well in their first year. International students must fulfill the following English language requirements (minimum scores): TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), 79 - 80 (internet-based) or an IELTS overall band score of 6.5 and with Malaysian University English Test (MUET): overall band of at least 5.
