This course develops students with the technical skills in software engineering areas such as computer programming, software design and development, object oriented techniques, the internet and www, multimedia, communications and information technologies. They also develop analytical, logical, critical and problem-solving skills plus valuable personal attributes such as communication and presentation skills. After graduation, they can work as a systems analyst, software engineer, web application developer, network management specialist or programmer analyst, etc. Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to: utilize technology effectively in acquiring knowledge, and in gathering, organizing and presenting information; understand fundamental programming concepts and design, develop and test computer programs using appropriate tools and techniques; explain the characteristics and functions of computer systems; explain the functions, processes and information needs of organizations; analyse, design, integrate and implement software information systems; select and apply appropriate methods, tools and techniques in information systems engineering.

The modules include Level 1: Computer Platforms, Introduction to Programming, Computing Solutions, Multimedia and Internet Development, Networking, Software Constructs and Tools, Software Engineering Implementation Project; Level 2: Mathematics for Software Engineering, Communication Technology, Data Structures and Algorithms, System Analysis, Data Analysis and Database Design, Quality Management Principles, Object-Oriented Programming, Advanced Software Engineering Project (Double Unit).

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता

Applicant must have completed Diploma in Computing; China Senior Secondary Year 3 and IELTS score of 5.5; SMU 3 and IELTS score of 5.5; GCE ‘A' levels with two passes; ITE Higher NITEC 2.5; STPM with two passes; Vietnam grade 12 and IELTS 5.5; or any other equivalent qualifications. Those without IELTS score of 5.0 are required to attend an English course at a fee.
