This program was developed to train and provide industry certification for building custodians, a new job created in the JRP-REMMI programme. Building custodian work is essentially a re-designed job, combining housekeeping/cleaner's work with the occasional minor building services repairs/replacements and grounds keeping work. The higher wages is expected to encourage the generally older and less educated existing cleaning workforce to upgrade their skills, attract a younger workforce and improve retention rates in this important environmental aspect of real estate management and maintenance work.

The modules are as follows: M1 Residential and Commercial Bldg Cleaning: Residential and Commercial Building Areas, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Issues, Residential and Commercial Building Cleaning: The Process, M2 Office Cleaning: Function of Offices, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Issues, Office Cleaning, Restroom Cleaning, M3 Building Upkeep and Minor Maintenance: Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Issues, Safe Removal and Disposal of Bulky Items and Waste, Upkeep of Vegetation and Plants, Upkeep of Building Services: Cleaning and Replacing Lights, Upkeep of Building Services: Clearing Sink and Gully Chokes, Cleaning and Touching Up Wall Paint, Minor Repair of Cement and Sand Screed and Plaster, M4Custodial Checking: Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Issues, Recognizing and Reporting Common Defects, Pest Sighting and Reporting, Recognizing and Reporting Health and Safety Hazards and Nuisance, Recognizing and Reporting Environmental Nuisance and Promoting Green Practices, Integrated Custodial Checking and Using a Checklist, M5. अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता

Applicants should have physically fit and not colour blind; able to lift objects weighing a minimum of 15kg; English literacy and numeracy up to at least primary 4 level or WDA ESS WPLN 3; able to work independently and exercise self-checks of completed tasks.
