This programme aims to equip students with the knowledge and application of engineering (Biomedical Electronics and Biomedical Informatics) in the biomedical sciences. Graduates will possess the unique ability to integrate these fields to serve the rapid growth of biomedical sciences industry in Singapore. To encourage creativity, self-learning and innovation in the students, emphasizing these attributes in the context of design of devices, computing skills and understanding processes that meet desired needs in biology and/or medicine. It prepares the students for diverse careers, from opportunities in biomedical sciences to opportunities in electronics and informatics industries. The programme also equips students with effective computing and communication skills for the work place and skills in project planning. It also aims at enhancing the ability to learn, grow and prosper as professionals through various problem-solving techniques and team concepts. Graduates can find job opportunities in the medical equipment industries, hospitals, pharmaceuticals industries, and life science research centres. Upon graduation, they can look forward to careers such as: medical product specialist, sleep technologists, medical technologist, pharmacy assistant, technical officer, lab technician, assistant engineer, software developers/programmers, embedded system applications engineers, computer technologists, customers support engineers, sales and marketing engineers.

Students from Australia must have written the New South Wales Tertiary Entrance Exam or Northern Territory South Australian Certificate of Education Northern Territory year 12 with maths 70 per cent or Queensland Senior Certificate year 12 with 70 per cent in all relevant subjects or South Australia Certificate of Education Record of Achievement. Students from China must have taken the National College Entrance Examination and scores of IELTS score of 5.0/ 5.5 or TOEFL score of 500/550 or GCSE Grade 6 (C) or better. They should also have obtained 65 per cent in maths and all relevant subject combination and NCEE score 66 per cent. Students from India must have completed the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Standard 10/12 with a score of 70 per cent or the All India Secondary School Exam (CBSE) Standard 10/12 with 80 per cent marks in maths or the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Standard 10/12 with an overall score of 70 per cent or All Anglo-Indian School Leaving Certificate Standard 10/12 with an EL of 65 per cent or the Matriculation Examination Certificate Standard 10/12 with 65 per cent or Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Standard 10/12 awarded by the Maharashtra State Board and Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Standard 10/12 awarded by the Kerala State with 65 per cent. Students from Pakistan must possess Intermediate/ Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) with an overall score of 70 per cent. They should have obtained a minimum English proficiency score in one of the following: IELTS 5.0/ 5.5, TOEFL 500/ 550, GCSE Grade 6 (C) or better. Students from USA must have high School Graduation Diploma or year 12 and should have obtained an overall score of 70 per cent.
