The Diploma in General Studies, is part of the US Pathway Programme which possesses all the advantages of a traditional foundation programme. Students earn 20 college credits under the Diploma in General Studies in Singapore, before progressing to the Summer Bridge term in the United States, where they earn 12 to 13 additional credits to complete the US Pathway Programme. The Summer Bridge term in the US builds on the knowledge and skills learned in Singapore, while introducing students to US culture. Satisfactory performance in the US Pathway Programme will enable students to enter the second year of a Bachelor Degree programme at Kaplan’s partnering universities. It consists of 10 subjects. Graduates will then progress on to the Summer Bridge in the US followed by the second year of a Bachelor Degree programme of their choice with one of the prestigious partnering universities in US.

The curriculum covers Progressive English: English for Academic Purposes (EAP 1), English for Academic Purposes (EAP 2); American Studies: American Studies I, American Studies II; General Education: Calculus I, Chemistry; Essential Courses: Career and Program Counselling, Information Technology, (Choose 1 pathway) Engineering Pathway: Calculus II, Introduction to Engineering; Business Pathway: Business Statistics, Microeconomics.

Applicants should have completed GCE 'A' levels, Higher NITEC, Year 12 or equivalent qualifications; English proficiency may be considered sufficient and a IELTS score may not be required if applicant possesses a diploma from a recognised institution where English was the sole medium of instruction. Otherwise, minimum IELTS score of 5.5 (no single band lower than 5.0) or TOEFL score Paper Based (513 - 547); Computer Based (183 - 210); Internet Based Test (65 - 78) or an equivalent is required.
