This programme aims to adopt a holistic and lifespan approach to health promotion. Using a three-pronged approach of exercise science, nutrition science and psychology, it will focus on three target areas: youth obesity, workplace health and active ageing. The emphasis on psychology is a unique approach which focuses on the importance of understanding behaviour and communication in the promotion of healthy lifestyle and behaviour. This is the first diploma programme in Singapore that combines exercise, nutrition and psychology in the management of health and wellness. Graduates will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to promote physical activity and health in the community, rehabilitation, school and corporate settings. It also prepares students in the following areas: nutrition science and the importance of nutritional balance for growth and health, fundamentals of exercise psychology, including factors influencing sports participation, interpersonal skills to conduct interviews and knowledge of several approaches to counselling such as the humanistic, cognitive and psychoanalytic approach.

GEC 'O' level holders students to be eligible for admission for the course, must obtain 26 points or better for the net ELR2B2 aggregate score (i.e. English language, two relevant subjects and best two other subjects, including CCA bonus points). They should also meet the entry requirements of English language with the grade 1-7, mathematics (elementary or additional) with grade 1-6 and one of the subjects with grade 1-6 in science stream, design and technology, food and nutrition, engineering, electronics or computer science stream. Students who are ITE holders should have completed NITEC qualification or Higher NITEC qualification with a GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 or 2.0 respectively. In addition to this all international students should have secured minimum IELTS score of 6.0 for all bands (listening, writing, reading and speaking) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 650 (Paper- based), 173 (Computer-based) or 79 (internet-based).
