This programme is contemporary in focus, teaching music that is relevant to today's culture. It is a hands-on programme that prepares students for entry into the current music industry in Singapore and the region. Over three years, the programme is structured to provide experience in performing, honing the technique on their instrument or voice, and teaching the building blocks of music through the study of music theory, sight-reading, and aural training. A unique aspect of programme is the emphasis on performance communication: the ability as a musician to have 'stage presence'- the look, attitude and ability to 'work the audience' are all crucial factors in becoming a successful performing musician. It prepares them to entry into the music industry, the syllabus and assessments are benchmarked with industry standards. Through a progressive structure of performance-based modules and assessments, they are taken through the building blocks of musicianship to become confident entertainment professionals. Graduates can progress as an session musician, singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, product specialist/sales. Related career areas are producer, music reviewer, voice talent, vocal coach.

The modules covered are: Level 1 covers: Main Study 1; Performance Projects 1; Music Skills 1; Technical Skills Workshops for Studio Practice. Level 2 covers: Main Study 2; Music Skills 2; Music History; Performance Projects 2. Level 3 covers: Main Study 3; Music Skills 3; Music Entrepreneurship; Performance Projects 3; Community Engagement Programme.

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता

Applicants from India should have completed Secondary School Certificate (Standard 10) - Indian Certification of Secondary Education (ICSE) by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination; Central Board of Secondary Education Examinations (CBSE). Applicants from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Singapore. Also applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate their proficiency in any one of the following English language requirements: IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL score of 525 in PBT, 197 in CBT and 71 in iBT. They are also required to attend an interview where they will present a portfolio of their work that demonstrates their creative potential.
