This course is designed especially for those with a passion for creating gourmet pastries, signature breads, cakes and specialty desserts. The course will offer them a broad overview and introduction to these culinary arts and it is an absolute essential for any aspiring pastry chef or baker. Institute theoretical teaching component will include subjects in the key areas of catering science, professional kitchen organisation, baking principles, cost control strategies and essential communication skills. All these will complement their hands-on learning experience in state of the art pastry kitchens. Students will undergo an enriching six months internship in some of the most contemporary and professional patisseries, bakeries and dessert stations around, which should provide them with insights into the latest pastry and cake designs, trends and baking techniques utilised by all the leading hotels and restaurants.

The course modules include Application of Host Communications, Asian Sweets and Pastries, Communication Skills, Elaborate Sweets and Pastries, English, Essential in Food Knowledge, Event Catering, Food Science and Hygiene, Fundamentals of Baking, Fundamentals of Beverage Knowledge, Fundamentals of Hospitality Hosting, Introduction to Information Technology, Kitchen Organisation, Menu Planning and Pricing, Kitchen Practicum, Principles of Baking, Principles of Supervision, Principles of Western Food Preparation.

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विद्यार्थीहरू प्रवेशको लागि आवश्यकता

Applicants should have completed at least 10 years of formal education. They should have obtained a band 5.0 in the International English Language Test System (IELTS) or a minimum TOEFL score of 61 points (internet-based total) or 173 points (computer-based total). They should have also attained an interview with Shatec Institutes.
